PATIENTS MAY BOOK AN APPOINTMENT FOR A SMEAR DURING NORMAL SURGERY HOURS WITH THE GP OR PRACTICE NURSE.
Physiotherapist: For all soft tissue injuries, sprains, strains & sports injuries; arthritis; back & neck pain; possible problems with muscles, ligaments & tendons eg tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome & ankle sprains
Diabetic Clinic: Tuesday & Wednesday afternoons by appointment with Dr Harper
Minor Operations: Wednesday pm
Baby Clinic: Tues 10.30-12.00am and Fri 1.30-3.00 pm
Cervical Smear Clinic: usually held on the 3rd Saturday of the Month (check noticeboard on home page for dates). You can also book an appointment with the Nurse.
Family Planning Clinic: Wed 1.30-3.00 or by arrangement with nurse.
Asthma Clinic & COPD Clinic: Monday & Wednesday afternoons respectively by appointment with the Practice Pharmacist
Travel Vaccinations - by appointment with Nurse
Warfarin Monitoring - by appointment with Nurse
The Practice offers a full range of Contraceptive Services, including Emergency Contraception, Coil Fitting and Implanon insertion. Please speak to a nurse to arrange a consultation.
The Practice likes to undertake shared ante-natal care with the hospital. Ante-natal and post-natal appointments are available on Friday mornings.
Test Results To find out results of blood tests, telephone the Surgery after 2.00 pm. The Doctor who requested the test will have looked at it and left a message with the Receptionist. Cervical Smear results will be posted out.
Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.
It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.
GPs hold pre-booked surgeries each afternoon. Phone reception to book an appointment with the GP of your choice.
If you have an urgent medical need you should phone at 8.30 am to book an appointment for that morning. Appointments can not be booked in advance nor can they be booked for a particular GP. You will be seen by the first available GP or by our Ursula Conlon, our Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Walk-ins will not be seen.
If you need a medical eg for an HGV/PSV licence you must book an afternoon appointment with a GP. Medicals will not be done at morning surgery.
If you wish to discuss a medical concern you should phone reception before 12pm to arrange for a GP or Nurse to call you back. We can only accept telephone calls for medical emergencies after this time.
To ensure that your request can be appropriately managed you will be required to tell the receptionist the reason for your call. If you refuse to provide details we will be unable to take your call. We can assure you that our reception staff are bound by the same rules of patient confidentiality as our doctors and nurses.
It is not possible to request a specific GP to return you call.
If you have requested a ring back please ensure that you are available when the GP or Nurse calls as missed calls will not be returned.
